See what I mean about gorgeous scenery.........the water was a cerulean blue, and the waves were frothy and white and splashing onto the cliffs high above. We were definitely seeing some of the rippling effects of the Mavericks.

Pretty gorgeous for the middle of January. Wouldn't you say? No coats required. Just long sleeves or a light jacket.........it was the calm after the storm, earlier last week. As we were walking along, my husband commented on how fragrant the cypress trees were. We picked up a few twigs and darling cones and brought them home. The smell is still lingering in the car.
And this gorgeous crimson beauty.......it smells soooo good, too. The colors that day were just something else!
One last ** S P L A S H ** for ya.......I told you the waves were sooo high.

It's wonderful, our Northern California, isn't it? Shhhhhh. Don't tell the So-Cal peeps.
Bari,
no kidding! We have the best, don't we! Ahhhhh......love the coast, I do, I do, I doooo!
I was in Northern Cal., in Carmel, 20 years ago, when I was 9. I'm not sure if that's where your pics were taken, but the cliffs and trees off in the distance look familiar and lovely as my memory.
Just what I need sunshine, England is so wet and cold at the moment. we have had nearly five days of non-stop rain and the roads are flooded and the rivers are bursting their banks. So to see your beautiful pictures is food for the soul. Thankyou also for the link in your previous post about the pictures, it has given me an idea to make one for my daughters 21st birthday in March of the horse.
I took a picture like that third one today! It looked about the same, I can't believe how blue the water has been for the past month.
Beautiful pics Laurie! Love that part of the world...
Annie
Beautiful pix Laurie! I can't believe that over 50,000 peeps turned out for the Mavericks contest this year! Yep love Nor-Cal and especially here in the bay area. In two hours we can be in the mountains playing in the snow or at the beach collecting sea shells!
