Happy June 1st!
It's that time of year..........winding down the school year! I can hardly believe it's June!!!!!!!!!!!! The month of May was incredibly full and busy!

My studio is a mess with fabric scraps all over the place, while I have been madly sewing end of the year teacher gifts! This time around I was on the ball and got them all made and wrapped ahead of time! I usually wait 'til the night before and stress myself out with last minute sewing.

This was a perfect way to use of pretty fabric scraps. I brought home a stack of note cards from the dollar bins at Target! They fit perfectly in the pockets! If you want to try this project, I highly suggest using a stiff iron on interfacing. It makes the note card holders keep their shape! (It worked well for me) You could also get creative and use ribbons for the ties.....I didn't have enough ribbons on hand, so I just cut strips of fabric and folded and sewed them....make sure you iron everything as you go ........ It makes it easier to sew. The little drawstring bags have note cards and a pen in them, for the music teacher, librarian, science teachers, etc.....What are you making for the teachers in your life? Tell me your ideas!

Signs of the season
Fall. I just love this time of the year!
Colorful season for leaves........veggies, etc....first rains of the season to freshen the air. A crispness in the air. Wood burning fireplace smell outdoors. Pumpkins! Just a few of my favorite things.
Our supper cooking on the stove top. Yummy beets, celery, butternut squash, zucchini, garlic, savory onions.
Making Halloween treat bags for some lucky kids.

Fun little project
Just take a look at these adorable little photo albums! I got the idea from Lizzy Kartchner. Lizzy's talented works are amazing and beautiful.
I had so much fun with these darling little photo books, during the summer. You really and truly get so hooked, that you end up making more than one! They are so addicting that I made one more, and another, and another and wow, "so and so" would love one.......and before I knew it, the pile was growing.
and a few more.........
pretty stash all over my bed!
I am still having fun with these little beauties. They make really nice gifts! (which reminds me that I still need to finish up a few before Christmas!!)
Thanks for the fun, Lizzy!!!!!!!

In progress
Lots in progress...........Springtime, sewing projects, baking, spring cleaning, etc ... what have you been up to?
I heart primroses!
A happy mess on my sewing table......oven (mitts in the works)
Pretty blossoms against a bright blue sky! Come back, blue skies and sunshine. Come back.......it's raining again today.
My happy new sparkle ballet flats. They make the coolest gold reflections on the sidewalk. (and they are oh so comfy)
I have restocked my etsy shop with a few items! Go check 'em out!
Happy almost weekend! I'm banking on some sunshine for tomorrow. (fingers crossed)

Shop Update
I have put one of my favorite quilts up for sale in my etsy shop. It will be very hard to part with this gorgeous quilt, but I already have quite a few quilts stacking up around here. It is perfect for the upcoming cooler weather. It fits on a twin sized bed, or works for a cozy lap quilt......not to mention you can drape it over your favorite chair or sofa. The possibilities are endless.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm enjoying (LOVING) the cooler weather!!!!

I just love Fall!
......... and I just love Laura Gunn's gorgeous Lantern Bloom fabrics, so much!
I've been making some Fall table runners, and having a lot of fun with her gorgeous fabrics. Laura is a brilliant painter and artist. Her paintings have been wonderfully printed onto fabric, and the depth, texture and feeling in these fabrics is amazing.
Just look at the rich colors and depth. It wasn't hard to come up with a fun and playful pattern, to pull these fabrics into a delightful table runner.
What shall I make next, with the left over fabric? I have several things in mind....a fun bag, another runner, and some little girls clothing. It means even more to me to have grown up in the same town as Laura, and graduated from the same High School. Yay! Going to put together a Fall bouquet of Lantern blossoms to go with the new table runner..........I saw some cut fresh cut blossoms at the grocery store, last night. They didn't look half bad! Has anyone ever attempted to dry them upside down and preserve them? In fact, I know where to pick some branches, that are grown locally.......I just might have to look into this! I told you I love this time of year. Crisp cool mornings, and perfectly sunny and warm afternoons. Just right. Just like Fall.

One.....last.bouquet.of.summer.
Rosy blur..........
one last bouquet..........these roses keep bloomin in the California sunshine!
Love the movement and glowing dance of color in this photograph.
On the way out the door to our parent teacher conference this afternoon, I decided it would be nice to bring the teacher a bouquet! Yes, a yummy, rosy, peppery sweet bouquet. A remnant of Summer. Today has been a wonderfully, warm, Indian Summery day. Basking in the afterglow of Summer.

Can't wait to cozy up and party with my new quilt!
Made these cute pillows for someone's birthday.........love looking at them sparkling on my work table. I must make some more for my own bed!
Pretty fabrics scraps all stacked on my table....waiting to be made into some lovely something! Anna Maria's fabrics are so tempting! So divine!

Quilting frenzy
Here I am laying out colorful patches of fabric, on the studio floor!
My four year old came along and took my portrait. (LOL)

It's been a busy summer of wedding quilts. Two weddings in the family, in ONE MONTH! Can you say frenzy/harried/crazy month of September for us!?!
Cut, lay out quilt squares, stitch together, cut, quilt, sew....
something like that?!

From concept to conception! Got it cut, sewn and quilted in a week! Wheweeeee!
Ran it to the post office and got it off, on it's way to South Carolina, baby!

It's so colorful and works well for Summer into Fall. Perfect for a new bride and groom~
I made this quilt with the gorgeous Valori Well's fabrics that my brother and his finance picked out! (from the Sole line) Well.....they wanted something with punchy bright colors and flowery, so I led them to the Sole line.....sneaky sister, I am!

Reminds me of a red carpet spread out in the garden! I didn't use a pattern here...just made it up as I went. That's how I typically quilt. I love to find my own rhythm.
