Spring = Sorting, Cleaning & Painting

We've been busy painting and tiding up my studio this week! Sorry for the lack of posts, but we'll be back with a few new looks! I'm painting some shelves a beautiful Melange Green! Inspired from the latest Marie Claire (French) Magazine. We're been enjoying our Camelias! They're in full bloom! My little girlie brought me this boquet~

Another Fun Bag

I just love this new Japanese fabric: Etsuko Furuya, Echino. I found it at Purlsoho. Thats where the inspiration for this bag all started. I found some gorgeous silk brocade (Japanese) fabric from JoAnn's to line the bag. These things are sooo addictive, I have another one in the works!

A Tisket - A Tasket

A Tisket, a tasket, a basket full of.................BEAUTIFUL FABRIC ~
...........my latest pile of treasures......i think i will get back into the bag/purse making mode. I've been having so much fun with my kiddos this week.......and to be honest I am kind of feeling sewed out, after the big push with the last two quilts and then two skirts after that. I have to stop and ask myself, do I ever really stop and take a break? I was in a fabric store last night, and the lady at the register said to me, "you must sew a lot." I had to be honest and my reply was: "yes, I do a lot of creating and I try to integrate my daughters into the mix." We know how to learn and have fun at the same time!!

A breath of fresh air

What a gorgeous sparkly weekend we had! Went for a drive to visit family, over the rolling green hills.....Finished up one of my skirts in time to wear for the weekend......celebrated my brother's birthday...........did some shhhhoppping.....and played in the chilly but sparkly sunshine! A breath of fresh air. Just what we needed.......now back to the grind. Looking forward to some fun projects on the burner for the coming week!

New skirt.....new sandals.....

I'm so excited to find this cute fabric for a skirt to match my new yellow sandals. I've had this combo in mind for a couple of days and finally am putting it into wardrobe action. It's getting HOT here! In the 80's today! Back to the sewing machine to finish up the skirt!

Belle--i-simo!

It's finally done! My beautiful quilt!! I spent a few days late this Winter working on this girl, and then sent it off to my long arm friends to be quilted. They did a beautiful job on the quilting!! My husband loves it, too! (grin) Most of the fabrics are from Amy Butler's Belle line........but there is a surprise dash of turquoise from Anna Maria Horner's Bohemian Line. It was so exhilarating to get TWO quilts back this weekend!!!!!

Another Toss

This one is for sissy number one...........a granny pillow in every way! Her Granny and Grandma made the squares and mommy whipped up this fluffy creation! My girlie picked out the pink pom poms.........a very nice touch, if I don't say so myself. It will coordinate nicely with her new quilt which is being quilted at the moment.

First Signs of Spring

Talk about a glorious weekend full of blossoms, antique finds, discovering a new quilt shop way out in the country (truly a diamond in the rough) and most of all a nap in the SUNSHINE! Ahhh, bliss!!!!

Kids Korner

So, this is THE little hutch I found at Honey Bee's consignment shop downtown. It is the sweetest little thing ever. I bought it with a bookcase in mind for myself, but immediately my youngest one took over and said: "this is where I am going to check my email, mommy".......as she put her toy laptop up on the desk top that is just her size. She took all her kitchen ware and moved in! How could I resist! So, I went to work painting it inside and out. Finished up with some little posy details here and there...added some hooks for teacups/utensils, and now it's in their room and ready for play!!!
