Like Mother, like daughter

Whir, whir, whizzzz, thats the sound of a six year old on her new birthday sewing machine......happy as a clam! (notice the bowl of bunny crackers she helped herself to....gotta have something to munch on while you sew away)

Lookie what my girlie made! Yep, she made the purty hearts all by herself. She got her first, brand new sewing machine at the early age of six. Pretty good, eh? Poor thing, she's watched her momma sew almost everyday of her life, so she has picked up lots on her own. So far we have hearts..........

.............and a fresh new line of little purses!
She says she's gonna set up an etsy shop. *wink, wink*

"Here's one I made for my little sissy, who loves blue!"

See how much she loves to swing her new purse!

"Look, here's my own purse!" "I picked the colors out all by myself."

~ Just in time for Valentines Day! ~

Oh they're gorgeous! What a clever girl. That must have made you so happy seeing her sitting there sewing away on her own machine. I think we are going to do the same for my daughter's 7th birthday, as she loves using mine.

Thank you so much for all your lovely, lovely comments on my blog, by the way! x

Okay, I'm dying to know which sewing machine you bought for your daughter. I plan to get one for my daughter for her 7th birthday. I do not have a lot of time to research because I'm very tired pregnant w/my 5th baby due august. Thanks SO much for your reply!

tbsamg,
I'd love to email you, but you didn't leave an email link or anything, so i'll just write it here. We got it at Target. It's a Singer: Prelude. It is regularly $89, but we got it on special for 79! It is really a great machine and a awesome deal for your money! Even I love it! It is not a kid machine, but definitely kid friendly with help. It comes with a very informative DVD which we showed and explained to our daughter. She is going to town on the thing everyday! A great babysitter. LOL~ Good luck! Check for online promotions for Target, ie: 10% off promotion codes, free shipping, etc....

Thank you so, so much for all your lovely, lovely comments this evening - they mean a lot and you are a complete treasure...yes, what a shame to be so far away! Loved hearing about your little girl and will tell mine in the morning! Why am I commenting on this particular post?...because I've just noticed something really odd, that's why! The table that your girlie is sitting at...that's the same table mine sits at! We bought it from Ikea about five years ago and we've sprayed ours that exact shade of pink!!!! Have fun purse-making. x

This is one of the cutest blogs I've ever read. My daughter is four, and I was just thinking to myself "At what age should she start sewing??" I know she'd love to do it... she's always right by my side.
