Day two, of our whirlwind trip to the Carolina's.
On our way to the wedding destination, we enjoyed cruising down a few little streets, here and there.
Seems like everywhere we looked, there were churches, chapels and more churches. I love all the old architecture on the East Coast. There definitely is a lot more history that dates back to the early days of our Country. I love this aspect of the Eastern states. As you can see, it was all new to me, being my first time to the East Coast!!!!! I've been to Montreal (Canada) a few years ago, but never to the US East Coast, or Southern states. The trees and rolling, green hills are breathtaking.
Good thing for the tent, because it started to rain the day of the wedding rehearsal/dinner, etc.....it was cozy eating our rehearsal dinner under the tent, all lit up with candles and white lights. My brother and his bride got married happily, in the beautiful woods surrounding her childhood home. The rain let up, and the birds were chirping....and the cicada's singing.
Ready to walk down the aisle......
Pretty, pretty roses adorning each table.
Happy couple, cutting the cake and eating some, too.....I'm so happy for my brother and his new bride! Wishing you two lots of happy years ahead!

Carolina on my mind
Taking off at daybreak, watching the sunrise over our city by the Bay..........
arriving here, five hours later......
Greeted by R-A-I-N!!!!! Something we haven't seen for months!
We got in the car and drove south! It's amazing to me how much territory one can cover, so quickly, on the East coast! The states are small in size, in comparison to the left coast. Within a few minutes we were soon in South Carolina! Stopped off in downtown Greenville for a quick look around.
So much to see, so little time!
We were on our way to my brother's big wedding day!
Some cute little shops downtown Greenville, on Main Street.
Fall colors starting to show on the trees....what a gorgeous time of year!
Loving the buildings, both in form and color.
Yummy color palettes everywhere you look.
Stay tuned for more of my trip, in the next post!
The laundry pile is heaped high, suitcases to unpack.....
and most of all, happy memories to dream about.
Carolina on my mind~

Quilting frenzy continued.....
Still quilting!
Still quilting!
Still sewing.........still piecing.......still enjoying sunny days of fabric fun.
I'm loving my new quilt! Just loving it. I don't know how I will be able to part with it for a few days, while it's getting quilted!
Can't wait to cozy up and party with my new quilt!
Made these cute pillows for someone's birthday.........love looking at them sparkling on my work table. I must make some more for my own bed!
Pretty fabrics scraps all stacked on my table....waiting to be made into some lovely something! Anna Maria's fabrics are so tempting! So divine!
Happy hump day, my friends! (ahem, Wednesday, that is) ~

Quilting frenzy
Here I am laying out colorful patches of fabric, on the studio floor!
My four year old came along and took my portrait. (LOL)

It's been a busy summer of wedding quilts. Two weddings in the family, in ONE MONTH! Can you say frenzy/harried/crazy month of September for us!?!
Cut, lay out quilt squares, stitch together, cut, quilt, sew....
something like that?!

From concept to conception! Got it cut, sewn and quilted in a week! Wheweeeee!
Ran it to the post office and got it off, on it's way to South Carolina, baby!

It's so colorful and works well for Summer into Fall. Perfect for a new bride and groom~
I made this quilt with the gorgeous Valori Well's fabrics that my brother and his finance picked out! (from the Sole line) Well.....they wanted something with punchy bright colors and flowery, so I led them to the Sole line.....sneaky sister, I am!

Reminds me of a red carpet spread out in the garden! I didn't use a pattern here...just made it up as I went. That's how I typically quilt. I love to find my own rhythm.

Moonrise
I just love this time of the year......on the cusp of Fall, but not quite the end of summer. The sunset glow on the hills all around......leaves just starting to turn a deeper shade......
We spend our afternoons/evenings outside, most evenings.
Caught the moon, sneeking up, over the hills......
Now, just a bit darker.....just a tad.....the hills turn that lavender shade of purple, mirroring the sky.
Makes me swoon to be out painting en plein air.

The Wedding Weekend
Keeping cool under the pink parasol.......
It was a beautiful wedding, in every way. Everything went off without a hitch. (at least I didn't hear of any issues) Got the flower girl's dresses done! Check! Wheweweeeeee.
during the wedding ceremony......the girls were good as gold!
to have and to hold......pretty boquets that is!
all married!
it was hot, so after the ceremony we took of the shoes and went around barefoot.
see my cute bag, I whipped up at the last minute.....had to have a cute purse to
strut around in.
the evening lighting was to swoon for.
and the food was melt in your mouth......Thai food/Asian
I'm so happy for my bro and his beautiful bride!
It is wonderful having a new sister!
Congratulations.....
......enjoy your honeymoon~

THE Pillow Path
This is what I came around the corner to, the other day. Too hot to play outside, after school....so the kids got creative!
Who wouldn't have fun with these wonderful pillows?!
Makes me want to make some more.
Time to unwind after a crazy, fun, big weekend of my brother's wedding!
Better go grab a pillow.

Just Breathe
Just breathe.
..... in the salty air, that is!
and crashing waves.....
digging in the sand......................
driving through the city maze of tall, tall buildings...................
driving by this fun school.........
and driving down this windy, tree lined road, into the Presidio.
...yup....that's how we spent one of our precious days off, this past weekend.
Feeling thankful, and inspired to live, and to create.
