New houses!

We had so much fun making these darling little house pillows. My heart leaps a beat or two faster when I see them over here, on this blog! Ruby makes the cutest things, ever! Now we have two cute houses of our own. We made them together on my daughter's birthday.

and another cozy corner

A darling way to plump up your cozy collection of pillows. A perfect way to use up scraps of fabric and trim.....buttons, whatever strikes your fancy. I think we will be making more of these. No two are alike, and they are so pleasing to make.

Slow simmer

Soups on!

This is what is slowly simmering on my stove top! Another rainy day.....hearty vegetable soup sounds so good! Recipe found here. This is absolutely the best lentil soup I have ever had! So creamy and hearty! I have not cooked with lentils very much, but this soup is top notch! You must make a pot for yourself!

Meanwhile, my sewing machines are whirring.......and I'm sewing, snipping and pressing some cute clothing for Springtime!

It's raining, it's pouring!

Yes, I think we are getting caught up on our rain. It's been so windy and stormy here, since yesterday, and it's supposed to keep it up for at least a week!
Might as well make the best of it, and go splash in a few puddles.

Lazy January days

I know the title is a bit misleading.....I have been quite busy actually.... but I think you know what I mean about lazy January days? I mean life seems to slow down a bit in the Winter. I don't feel the urgency to do the wash or get them folded, for that matter.......when the kids are home from school and it's summertime, I do the laundry more often. Many changes of clothes, swim suits, playing outside in the sunshine......enjoying the outdoors more. The peace and solitude of Winter has settled in, over here. I enjoy spending my time making hot soups, warm breads, muffins and comfort foods.

Winter sunlight

Laundry procrastination...

And playing with my camera in the low, sinking afternoon sunshine. Hows that for a keeping it real photo?!

Birdie visitors

Something else we're loving. So close to home! These little sweet, tiny birdies coming by for some seeds! Aren't they fun to watch! Anyone else love to bird watch in the Winter? They have about finished off the seed since the photo was taken!
