A new skirt for one of my little sweetie pies................So my girlie number one is totally into sewing, picking out her own fabrics, etc.......she is a mere five years old as of a few weeks ago.......I can hardly keep up with her projects and ideas, let alone my own! She totally picked out these fabrics for the skirt, all on HER VERY OWN! What a little missy designer! I found the perfect top and sweater to go with it, this morning. Walla!

Nesting and eggs
Nests and eggs ..... here is one of the mini projects I did to kick off the buzzy weekend we had around here. Made a few eggs from some zippy scrap favorites. We got A LOT done!! Finished painting a little wooden hutch for the girls to play with........just their size. I'll be sure to post that in one of my next postings. (Still working on it) More to come...........if you want to make your own eggs, simply draw up four ovals and make sure they are all the same size. Sew the first two inside out, on the one side. Then sew the next oval inside out to the first two......and so on. Finally, sew the last edge together of the four parts, just part-way. Do the whole mess inside out and push some stuffing inside. Plump that eggie up and hand stitch the little remaining corner of the eggshell together. It's fun, easy and rewarding for a spring pick me upper around the house!

Girlie little things
One of my girlies and I whipped up this fun floral pillow yesterday! Sorry, Anna Maria, I'm totally hooked on these things! Now girlie number two needs one for her bed. Here are a few fun things in their room. I love this room! I love the yo-yo idea that Heather Bailey gave us all, too! I made a yo-yo garland and hot glued it up on their shelves!

Some frilly little things
Finished the scrunchie for girlie number one's hair! She is into RED these days! This weekend we hit the outdoors!!!!!!!! Enjoyed some unbelievable Bay Area 70 degree sunshine!!!!!!!!! It was just a teaser though, 'cuz the nippy wind and sketchy clouds are back. Thats spring time for ya! Missy number two is enjoying the lavendar skirt from her sissy, two years ago (mommy made it for her) ! They went posy picking for the better part of the day!! Got stuck in some sick traffic this weekend........took two hours to move a mere 20 miles, heading to the Bay Bridge approach..............must have been Chinese New Year weekend!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was had the same idea to head outdoors and enjoy the sunshine over in the City! A big Chinese New Year parade happened, among other things! Didn't get to the estate sale in time to get the Danish table and bookcase I had my eye on............rats! Everything was taken/sold by the time we were even halfway there! Gotta luv that Bay Area traffic!!!!!!! Better luck next time..........can't wait for the official garage sale season to start up!

Fun Fabrics
I promised my daughter that we would go out and get some fabrics to make her a few tiered skirts. She loves to pick out her own fabrics!
This is what we came up with! The red and white polka dots are for a headband/scarf for myself. I found one here for $16 and decided that for .50 cents I could make my own! With the left overs I will make my girls some scrunchies for their hair, like the ones at Gymboree!
Now they are all washed up and ironed and ready to roll!!! Spring sewing, here we come!

Scrap Happy
I'm having fun with a patchwork job..........it's gonna be for one of our lucky girl's beddy-bye. Couldn't settle on just a few prints, so here are the lucky winners.....
......not to mention the fact that my daughter wanted a little of everything! I'll take the paper dolls mom, and the cupcakes, and the cherries, the ribbons, etc......
....ok, so here is our quilt so far.
Will share the finished product when it's done and on her bed! Back to the sewing machine.

Rosy Posy Dollies
All ready for a tea party...............yesterday we girls were over at Barnes & Noble sipping a mocha and reading stories.....one of my girls found this cute little fairy doll making kit for only $17 ~ Ha! So on our way home we stopped by JoAnn's and picked up some wooden doll making heads/beads (only $3) and came right home and whipped up some cute tiny dolls. My 5 year old made the cutest face all on her own and cut out the blond hair (from embroidery floss) and picked apart the silk flower to use for the doll's skirt! How cute is that! We know how to have fun!!!
