About time!

So sorry for the long pause here, friends.........busy times, and turning another year older was splendid!

Bits and pieces

Tying up odds and ends around here..........made this sweet little floral belt to dress up this blouse I had.....



What a great way to use up some of the gorgeous little bits and pieces of fabric I all have laying around.......and when I say laying around, I mean it! It's all over the floor in my work room.......need.to.get.tidying.up.around.here!



I sure had fun creating this fun denim skirt! I got the idea from here. All in all, the skirt only cost me $10.00 and my time! Not bad, eh?! I will post another photo of the skirt later on.....
What a gorgeous day it is today..........the weather has been near the triple digits for the past few days, and it's finally cooled down to the 70's........that's more like it for Springtime weather.

Getting there.........

Oh hello there.........I have not forgot about my blog, or about YOU!...where does the time go?
...I've been busy being busy....making, creating, sewing, baking, cooking.........living!



Look what she made! (with a little help) Something I could eat! A delicious carrot cake, gluten-free...........and decorated with creamy cream cheese frosting and carrots, of course!





My dear sweet husband and kiddos spoiled me rotten on Mother's Day! Homemade roast beef sandwiches with slices of juicy tomato and pickles.....oh my~ I didn't have to cook on Mother's Day! It feels a bit awkward and strange not cooking while the rest of the family is baking and cooking in MY KITCHEN! I am THE COOK and chef in this house.......along with my little helpers, as you can see. It's so cute....every time they hear the mixer start, or see me walk into the kitchen, they run for the nearest chair and pull it up to the counter. I love it that they are so eager to help in the kitchen. If only they were so eager to clean their own rooms.

It's gonna be a bright, sunshine-y day

This cheery California poppy and gilded bumble bee are cheering me up, today! Look twice, it's not a real flower or a real bee. If any of you are locals to the Bay Area, you really should stop by the entrance to the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, and see this and other gorgeous sculptures.

These cute and colorful felted posy hair accessories are so much fun to make! A great excuse to use up any bits and pieces of felt.

Here is my version:





I attached (with hot glue) a tiny piece of gold ribbon to hold the rubber hair band to the backside. Simple, fun hair bling! The best part is, it didn't cost me $20!

Pillow talk....cloudy days....

Cloudy, rainy, drippy, spring days.........cozying up with new Sis Boom pillows....sipping hot tea, making muffins.....thats what I do on rainy days....
