Chambray denim for spring!
Been busy making poofy skirts for the ladies in this house. One for the Momma bear, and two baby bears......
with some cute lace and vintage braid detailing......
and of course some poofy eyelet petticoats peeking out.....make for fun twirling.
Momma bear loves these wild flowers on her new sweater that Pappa bear got her for Valentines Day! The tucks on the Momma bear waistband skirt, were not so easy! Once I figured them out, it was a cinch......if you want to make a tucked waistband, here is the trick............take a long and wide piece of fabric and set and sew the tucks first, then cut out the waistband AFTER the tucks are sewn in place. It took me a few try's to figure this out!
Now, we just need a sunny day to dry the damp grassy hillsides out, and we're off to take photos in our match-y skirts!

Love love love those skirts!!!!
Really, really cute! I can't wait to see the photo shoot.
And wow - pappa bear has good taste. :)
Delightful and I love the poppies :)
So very cute! What pattern did you use? I have been trying to find one for me & my girls too.
adorable! I love how they are all different. You guys are going to look fantastic! Promise to post the pictures.
I used pattern: McCall's M5631
For the little girls skirts....I just made them up as I went.
Good luck, ladies!
PS....I did improvise the waistband on my skirt...made it wider and added tucks! Just because. :)
Where might Papa Bear have found that smashing sweater? It looks great with your chambray skirt, or, oh ANYTHING!!!
Very cute skirts! I'm dreaming of the day when it gets warmer here and something like these would be so nice for taking a walk. Right now it's so cold I try to avoid skirts with slits and wear knee highs- ugg I dislike winter so much right now, thanks for the cheery spring outfits to brighten my day and to give me somehing to look forward to.
sweater is from Old Navy
Very cute! I love the added petticoat too (is that what it's called?)
Where did you get the denim? Should it be a light weight denim? I went out and bought the pattern this weekend! Can't wait to try my hand at it!
D'rae,
I used lightweight denim/chambray!
Found it at JoAnn fabric store.
Good luck~
The skirts are adorable! I especially love the tucks!
My little girls (5&7) would LOVE these denim skirts!
They are so cute. I love all the little details.
