Thunder Cakes!

What do you do with your kids on a rainy, stormy, thundering afternoon? Have you ever made Thunder cake? If you've never read this adorable book, it's about time you did!

We read this fun book by Patricia Polacco, and made some mini heart shaped thunder cakes. I just love her fun whimsical illustrations, and loving stories.

Here's the recipe for this delicious cake!
The next time you hear the thunder start to roll, get grab your apron and wooden spoon,
round up your kids, and start baking this whimsical cake!

We're not experiencing any thunder but we are having strong winds and rain today--seems perfect for making a big pot of chili and your Thunder Cakes. Thanks you so much for sharing the recipe and the lovely photos. The clouds are awesome.

That sounds like a nice book to have...I wonder if baking thunder cakes will keep me away of my thunder-phobia, they look yummy!

What a great idea! Of course, we had some thunder and lighting the other day too. But it's just strange to hear/see it when there is 6" of snow on the ground!
