High Summer

With a hint of Fall in the air, I got inspired to make
these little skirts for the girls. I added a bit of lace and woven braid for a fun vintage effect.

Of course we had to try them on and model them over the weekend.

I just love this time of the year when the grasses all around are golden, and the hills look like they are glowing like gold straw.

Now I have to ask, are your girls your muse, or is it the fabric??? Gorgeous work!!

I bet they can't wait for school to start to wear their new skirts. They are precious... with a hint of Fall.

Is interesting how we start thinking of Fall at this time of the year...I think with the high temperatures lately, we are wishing for a little cool-ness in the air and all the gorgeous colors of Fall, like the colors on the beautiful skirts. Love the lace details and I also so love those little gold sandals!

Laurie--you have one of the best blogs! Thanks for sharing! It is totally reflective of your amazing creativity which I admire so greatly! I read all the posts and cracked up about the Runcible Sppon, as Mom & Dad gave that very one to Wade and I for an engagement present. I love it! xo

Where in the world do you live that there is a hint of fall in the air? I need to move!! I love the skirts-I may borrow the idea for my little Lilly. So cute!! I found you thru Daisy Cottage and I can tell I will be looking through your archives! Elise

love love the skirt paired with the brown top. And I'm not normally a floral/lacy type of girl. BUt, I would totally wear that. :) It rocks!
