Tall, tall trees and a finished skirt

Oh, how I love these Eucalytpus trees...........in fact, this is the outdoor playground I grew up in. We made treeforts, hide and seek and played for hours out in these trees in the hills........not many kids have this much room to roam in, just outside their back door! The deer, hawks, birds of all kinds, squirrels, racoons, and many more animals make this forest their home as well.

I was fortunate enough to catch the last few glowing minutes of sunshine outside, this weekend at mom and dads! I love to run indoors and grab my camera and just HAVE FUN playing with the glowing leaves and tree trunks. It's almost as if the fairies come out to play in the skittering twilight.

Here's one peeking out of the trees with her new Kaffe Fassett skirt, all finished and ready to wear!

I just love how this skirt turned out.

....and one more set of tree trunks covered with this textured bark and gorgeous fallen leaves strewn all about the ground.............waiting for the next generation to come play and climb on them!

MADLY in love with that skirt!! Did you use a pattern? If not, could we be lucky enough to get a tutorial? ;) You did a fantastic job mixing those fabrics.

I bike to work every morning and the smell of the Eucalytpus trees is soo very California. All my childhood memories have this smell in them. They are from Australia, originally, right? OK. if I beg you and offer up money, will you make me a skirt just like that??

Just want to comment on an earlier post about the wheat free carrot cake. I followed your recipe this weekend, with slight alteration - I couldn't get hold of Oat flour locally in the UK so I used wheat free plain flour instead and I added some raisins into the mix. It came out great, took it to work for all to enjoy, and they did!!

Thanks for visiting my blog... it led me to yours and I love it!

I too grew up with Eucalyptus trees and have always loved them. I have three in my yard now, and are blooming like mad. Too much so, but I still love em!

Laurie, If you created a pattern for this skirt I would be intersted in buying them to sell in my store. Let's talk in private over email if you are interested. I think it is a really fantastic skirt. ^_^
