Typical day at the office

Happy Friday, peeps!

How is your day shaping up?

I was up at 6am along with the birds....baking cookies for school lunches, making breakfast which consists of a multitude of menus.......oatmeal for some, hot buckwheat groats for others, scrambled eggs, oh yeah, and a little someone always has their warm homemade muffin. I think I forgot to add the school lunch making frenzy in there. It's all gotta be done by 7:30, so we can be dressed and out the door shortly thereafter!

I finally finished up the cutest little skirt, and I feel a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes it's the little things in life that make me smile. I feel like I have something to show for my day, other than a pile of fold laundry and dirty dishes to load for the umpteenth time into the dishwasher. I'm not knocking the dirty work, because someone's gotta do that, too. Let me say this, I was under the weather over the weekend, and I sure appreciated my sweet husband helping out with the dishes. It always amazes me how quickly the dirty things pile up. Dishes, laundry, messy house.....

Did groceries and was back home by 10:30am....unloaded the food and fresh produce. Started in on a batch of fresh bread. Today's special is hot cross buns. I made a humble attempt at the hot cross buns last weekend, but they did not turn out like I had pictured. (They're still tasty, but a different texture than I was expecting.) As I am typing, the bread is rising, so let's hope I have success this time around.

Oh what a beautiful day!

Mt. Diablo

Breezy, sunny and simply perfect!
Busted out the flip flops and short sleeves today.

I think I'm high on Springtime! Just look at the blue sky, and just a skiff of wispy clouds. All the blossoms are blowing off the trees today, and it looks like snow.

Mom came over today, and we shot a few awesome photos and did some paintings from them! I just love painting with watercolors. So loose and flowing.

Yesterday we had Irish Soda Bread!

It was sooo good, it was gone in a flash!

I eat bread, just so I can spread butter on top! Can you see the melting butter on top?!

This time around the loaf did not raise as high......I had to improvise on my recipe, because I was out of buttermilk. The buttermilk and soda really make the dough bubble and rise so beautifully. What recipe do you use? What foods do you make on St. Patrick's day, if you celebrate? We had stew to go with the bread.

Happy weekend!

Pink Fig Accessories

We are a big fan of Pink Fig patterns!

Look at these cute little purses we whipped up in no time! Chelsea's patterns are so easy to follow, and you have a finished piece in an hour or so!

Cute bags!

Two, cute little purses from her latest Pink Fig Accessories pattern! Hop on over to her shop and pick up a pattern!

Girlie bags & purses

The pattern directions give measurements for a shorter strap than we made. Just for fun, we made our strap length twice the size of the direction measurements. This makes a great length for a cross body strap for these cute little purses. Either way is delightful. Next time we will try the shorter strap measurements. We also added little sewn in pockets for lip gloss and girlie treasures.

Blossoms of hope for Japan

We cannot even comprehend the devastation that is still happening in Japan. We hope and pray the very best for all in Japan.

Blossoms of hope for Japan

May Japan see the blue sky again one day, and smell the blossoming trees of Springtime~

Lets all appreciate our family and friends, our warm houses and health, A LOT MORE!
