I struck gold the other night, and this is no April Fools! I am so in love with this mustardy goodness.
Been dabbling with my paints lately.
This one is acrylics.....
I just got some new watercolors that I can't wait to bust out of the box. I know just what I want to see on my fresh piece of watercolor paper...a big mass of yellow, mustard! Yes, I am so in love with this color. I find that I am very affected by my surroundings, and this time of year it is all good! How can you go wrong with color popping up all around you?!Has anyone made Amy's new bag? I will have to say this this is one of her most time consuming, fiddly bags! Don't get me wrong, I am loving it, but man is it ever taking me time! I am working on it between the episodes of my life. Hahahaa....you know, kids, meals, sewing, kids, meals, out for errands, sewing........i'm sure you have a similar rhythm.
Okeeee, back to the bag.....will do a show and tell when I'm done! So far so good.
Anyone have any good April Fool's jokes today?

yep had someone at work totally convince me that he had basically cut his thumb off with a saw in our warehouse. Oh was I mad but I have to admit it was a good one, that guy should win an Oscar for his performance!
I am so with you on the mustardy colours - I love them and have that Amy Butler mustard print too. I also have that bag pattern (the Sophia? yes?) but haven't yet attempted it...you are putting me off though as I am bad at following a pattern at the best of times. x
Oh, I'm just loving your painting!!!!Can't wait to see some watercolor paintings, too!!! Since having kids, I've hardly managed to draw or paint something, but that's how I started sewing more,LOL!!!
Love the Sophia bag, especially since it is big and have a closure(for safety...), but I'm not good with patterns, at all(when reading them, they seem like a HTML or something, even in my language,LOL)....I'm more like visual type of seamstress;)...
Can't wait to see your bag finished!!!!
Florence and Katarina,
i'm with you on the difficult, long patterns....so annoying to read pages of instructions.....i must admit this is the first time I have followed a bag pattern, other than the "frenchie" bag....now that one was easy, in comparison to the "sophia" bag. Oh my.....i just like to make my own patterns as i go....more creative and rewarding. But I like the fact that the Sophia bag has a zipper. We'll see if I can find the time to finish it.
oh great, is this the pattern you sent me?! I'm thinking of making a dress for Lily out of that AB fabric your using, love the grey and yellow. Nice painting!!
Lovely painting and photos Laurie. The photo of you and the girls in the tree is darling! I think I have a photo of us in that very same tree!
Annie

Love the yellow! It seems like everyone is posting about yellow lately -- such a fun color.
I just love reading about all of your Bay Area excursions -- used to live in Walnut Creek a few years ago and miss it!!
Beautiful landscape and the flowers are wonderful.
Great looking AB project too. If that's the Sophia bag I have that pattern but haven't tried it yet.
The painting is beautiful too. Everything here is so colorful and a pleasure to browse.
Your painting is wonderful. The colours you have chosen are soooo vibrant and fun. LOVE IT!!!!
