Company Dinner

Taking a break from the fabric.........cooking up a delicious dinner! Trying a new recipe I revised. Butternut Squash cubed and steamed with bacon diced on top and Kalamata Olives, purple onion, Feta Cheese sprinkled on top of the lettuce! A homemade dressing of olive oil, orange juice, salt, and a tea spoon of bacon trimmings (poured off the cooked bacon). Drizzle the dressing on top and indulge~ It's actually a Winter salad, but quite yummy! I steamed fresh artichokes, made a chicken dish with rice, and a strawberry apple crisp for dessert! YUM~

Show and Tell

Here are a few of the treasures I picked up this weekend! I painted a shelving unit a lovely Melange green, last month.......and now I have some fun little tins to store thread and sewing goodies in. Oh what fun! I have a big project to finish, so will keep this post short and sweet.

Exhilarating Weekend!!

Well, where to start?! We headed over to one of my most favorite haunts in the whole wide world! Half Moon Bay! Truly an artists paradise.......quilt shops, galleries, antique shops, boutiques, nurseries, farmers market on saturday mornings, beautiful old buildings and flowers everywhere you look!!!!! Not to mention the yummy cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops! (It's also a surfers paradise) Got my antique shopping fix (for now) and checked out a few galleries. Brings back fond memories of Art School, when I had a bunch of my paintings on display in a quaint coffee shop, just off of main street. Ahhhh, the good 'ol days.

Easter egg hunt and a relaxing Sunday with family and friends ~

It was drippy and drizzly on the coast, but ohhhh so refreshing! Had sandwiches at the yummy San Benito House on Main Street, browsed in a few antique shops, and found some yummy things that I will share in the next post!! ~ Oh, and my girls scored with a teacup each from their great-grandma!

Kluck, Kluck.....Happy Easter

A skirt in the makings

So, here is what I have come up with so far! I'm pretty excited about it. (the colors are much richer and the hot pink is much brighter in real life) ~ You get the idea, anyhow. Just need to attach the waistband to the skirt and put a zipper in and hem it! YAY! Then the fun part comes..........finding the perfect top to wear with it! Any ideas???

Creative Endeavors

I fell in love with this really Cute Skirt Pattern from here! I decided to give it a whirl again with this fabric I have all layed out, ready to cut and sew! Found this darling skirt from Anthropologie and want to create my own version. I'll have show and tell when I am done. The Irish Stew is a cookin for supper and I smell fun in the works. Thank goodness for the 'ol crockpot!!! I am cooking up my Granny's recipe of Irish Stew. YUM! For any of you interested in where I found my choice fabrics, you can most likely find them at JoAnn's. All their denim is on sale right now for 40% off, and I picked up the brocade's there, as well........trims, etc! They don't have a huge selection of braids and trims at JoAnn's, so maybe you can come up with a better place to find some delicious trimmings for a cute skirt!! I thought the polka-dotty stripe of sorts would be fun for a change from the traditional unpatterned denim. ~~ My wheels are spinning now.........I am imagining a denim or chambray skirt with vintage hankies or cloth napkins cut up and used as the patchwork piecing on the waist! How cute would that be! Ohh, and some crocheted lace for trim! Next time..............Time to go have fun!!! ~

Freshcut Shopper

I am loving these Heather Bailey fabrics more and more everytime I work with them!!! I have had this fun charm pack of squares staring me in the face (hanging on my bulletin board) just waiting for the perfect little something! This little something turned into a springtime bag! I love it! I still have another pack of these sparkly candy fabrics to have fun with! Thank you Heather for designing such gorgeous fabrics!!!
