Well, we're back home, now! I have so many fun photos to post of our little getaway to beautiful British Columbia. The sunshine was plentiful, so that meant a lot of fun outdoor hikes, beach picnic that lasted until sunset, and catching up with the family......I will break up my stories into three posts.....here is the first installment.......
Above the clouds....on our way to Vancouver, BC!
Capilano Suspension Bridge: Treetops Adventure
Green overload! We got used to all the green vegetation in British Columbia while we were there, and it was pretty shocking to arrive back home to the dry, golden hills. We only have green overload for half of our year, in our part of the world!
Totem poles!
CLIFFWALK!
"240 custom steel T-posts were plasma cut by hand and over 1,800 bolts secured CLIFFWALK and shored up and suspect rock. That was the easy bit compared to the 16 anchor points used to cantilever the walkway over the precipice. Each was painstakingly set in the ancient granite - some penetrating six meters deep."
I admit I had a few butterflies in my stomach as I walked along this pathway, hanging out over the ground which was far, far below! Once we got going, the butterflies eased.....walking along the granite cliffs, in and out of trees, breathing in the fresh, fresh air and Douglass fir and spruce trees, is breathtaking! I can't wait to go back!
